ANTIPODES

This album was created over the past few years by two artists in two different hemispheres who connected over a mutual love of music. The goal was to create a cohesive work from two distant corners of the globe. The result is Antipodes. The first half was composed in the South Island of New Zealand by Derek Pearson (Silence and The Unwinking Minds) and the second half was composed in the UK by Samuel Death (tides). The two sides are bridged by the title track which we created together. We have both experienced significant life changes over the course of recording this album, and have found respite in processing these shifts through music. What started as a creative exercise has grown into a meaningful friendship. We hope that this collection of songs brings you as much solace as it brought us while making it.
