The CN-70 Tape Drums sample pack is comprised of sixteen drum samples recorded off of the internal drum machine of the Yamaha CN-70 electric organ. Every sample was recorded mono straight to tape using the Marantz PMD 222. The samples were recorded at a variety of speeds, adding further colour and texture to the character of each sample.

The eight parameters include:

  • Filter Frequency

  • Filter Resonance

  • Low Pass

  • High Pass

  • Warmth

  • Grit

  • Modulation

  • Tape Speed

In addition to using these samples with a traditional sampler, there is also an Ableton Live project included which contains a custom instrument rack. The Instrument rack has eight macro dials, allowing you to further adjust various parameters of the drum tone.
